A joint venture is when two or more parties combine their resources into a real estate deal. Unlike a syndication setup, in a joint venture, all parties must take an active role in the investment.
For example, in a joint venture value-add multifamily deal, all partners will have defined roles they must fulfill. Joint ventures may or may not include passive investors.
